This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to lead a business operation that covers the steps required to develop and implement business plans.

The unit applies to individuals who are running an organisation or who take a senior role in determining the effective functioning and success of the organisation.

BSBMKG623 Develop marketing plans

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to research, develop and present marketing plans for an organisation.

The unit applies to individuals working in senior marketing positions who are responsible for formulating a marketing plan by developing specific marketing strategies and tactics in accordance with the organisation’s overall marketing objectives. Individuals operating at this level may receive input from people working under their supervision, who collect information required to devise specific marketing strategies and tactics.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

MINIMUM AGE

Be at least 18 years of age

EDUCATION

Successful completion of Australian equivalent Year 12 qualification or higher; or Certificate IV in Vocational Education or equivalent.

English Requirement: Minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent. In the absence of formal English qualifications, the college may offer an English Placement Test.

RESOURCE REQUIREMENTS

Computing Skills

To successfully complete this course, you will require basic computing skills.
This includes:
• Create, save and edit Microsoft Office documents
• Access and search the internet
• Download, upload and save documents from websites
• Participate in online discussions
• Compress image files
• Connecting digital cameras and downloading and storing images and video files

Digital Equipment Required

Learners must also have access to:
• Computer with high-speed internet
• A digital video recording device and/or a digital camera and associated software to save and upload video, image and audio files to the LMS. Many mobile phones and smartphones include this technology
• Software to view online videos and images. Software such as Adobe Reader, Windows Media Player, Windows Photo Viewer etc. are available as a free download from the internet.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

To successfully meet some assessment requirements, you will need to work with one or two other people to participate in a video or audio role-plays. It is your responsibility to find your own suitable participants. Suitable participants may include your trainer, colleagues in the workplace, friends, family and other learners.
