Melbourne is a world-class destination for multicultural dining and hospitality. Visit ‘Little Italy’ in Carlton, Chinatown and the Greek district in the city, and find Lebanese in Brunswick and Vietnamese in Richmond.

If you lived anywhere else in Australia, you would come to Melbourne to shop. The big destinations for shopping throughout the year are Bourke St Mall, Emporium, Gertrude St, Chapel St, Flinders Lane and Collins St.
Sport
Melbourne’s game has long been AFL football; in fact, it’s popularity is such that it may now be the national Australian sport! Other major sports events held in Victoria include the Aus Open, the Formula One Grand Prix, and Test and One-day cricket matches.

Melbourne is home to excellent theatres and galleries, including the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), Melbourne Theatre Company and the Heide Museum of Art. Melbourne is often touted as Australia’s most creative city.
